Woke up way too early this morning. Must remind myself to chillax.

Or maybe this post should be titled Hey, You Survived the Weekend (which Survived the Work Week)... but that would be long, cumbersome, and probably a little confusing. Sadly, Saturday night one small drink with the folks turned into an all-night party. Unfortunately that led to Sunday, where I was actually contemplating my survival of dehydration because I couldn't keep water even down. Oh... I need to start partying with people my age again. It's always much more lethal with my parents. (Also, much more lethal when you combine chardonnay and vodka. I'll save everyone some time: DON'T.)

Sunday morning I woke up with a dry mouth, and that vague dread you have when you realize you're conscious, but in a completely different room than when you were last cognizant. After a leery stretch for the nearest internet enabled device, I discovered that I thankfully passed out before I could grace you all with my lovely, illogical drunken wisdom. It was close, though. I had apparently started a post, but never finished it. For your amusement, here's a snippet:

...um, yeahhh. Thankfully, though, I did not press "Post" at the end of the (even longer) drunken ramblings. Small favors.

We just finished up with the rather large project here at work, so I have a little time to breathe this afternoon before we start on the next big project. I'm thinking, though, that I seriously need to carve out some time of day to work on my writing. I might have to become a morning person, or something, since that appears to be the only time of day where nothing (and no one) can really interfere and distract me.

And... um... meme?

However, it's just a teensy bit close to Christmas, because, uh, the holidays EXPLODED on me? (You were wondering why the Ficmas dried up, weren't you? Really sorry, but it couldn't be avoided. I'm going to try really hard to finish those and have massive postings soon. Gomenasai!) Seeing as it is the 18th of December, I'm really not expecting anything, except maybe for you guys to have a good holiday season. (Yeah, I'm cheesy.)

It was at this point in the series where I fell head over heels... for John, for Rodney, for their crazy boyish antics, and the whole show itself! I've actually lost count of how many times I've seen "Hide and Seek". It has yet to get old.

Looking at it... most of those are fairly recent. I think this year alone, I've been able to really start to pin down what "works" and why. Around the end of last year I started looking at my favorite authors and studying their stuff and why it resonated with me so much. I don't think I've really cracked it, but I think I've been learning how to add a little more depth (at least to my eyes) to my writing.

My coffee is unhappy with me this morning:Or perhaps I am simply sleep deprived and giving my morning beverage anthropomorphic properties. However seeing as I made up angsty frying pan dramas when I was making pancakes the other day, this just could be an indicator of a more serious underlying problem. Sadly, I took pictures of that too.

Taking a break from writing for a few minutes, because I've written like 6500 words (and that's only on the most recent incarnation) on this story today alone. That, and the angst is about to smother me, so I must come up for some air. Borrowed from mumumugen , because it's fun :D
