Man, I didn't realize there were such cheap (international!) airfares at the beginning of the year. Must. Resist. Booking early vacation.

Book, book, book!! You know you want to!!

So, where do you want to go first?! *bg*

Really, really not a good idea to encourage me ;)

Hrm... as to where to go first... depends on my fellow fen. I'd much rather travel and meet people than just simply sight see.

Well, if it wasn't for the ME, I'd say come stay at out house *pouts at illness*. But hey, how about a last minute holiday to Chevron 7.2? Lots of fannish fans there!!

If I was well, I'd offer to do some of the tourist trail with you (depending on money and such like considerations, of course!). We could do London and then I could introduce you to the Derbyshire dales and peak district... *sigh* Ah, dreams...

Hrm, well my cheap fares are coming up on the "my dates are flexible" option, so I don't know if it would include that particular one... but heck, why not? Might be fun to at least see what the fare would be XD

(Getting the time off work... hah, that should be fun.)

Maybe a trip can be plann-ed when the ME isn't so bad. Or do some sort of whirlwind UK tour. I could always dip down on my way to/from Scotland. Haven't been there yet! :o

If you come before the ME is gone and don't mind stopping in a b&b or hotel, we could so do that! Make it a weekend (a bank holiday weekend would be even better) and I'd have the car too (hubby uses it to get to work).

If you come when the ME's let up/gone completely (no idea when that would be), then I like the idea of meeting you somewhere (Scotland would be so cool) and then - depending on work commitments (if I'm back at work) - you could come here for a few days on your way elsewhere, maybe?

We have relatives in Scotland, so we could visit them and then meet up if you wanted to do things on your own first, that wouldn't be a problem. We also have relatives/friends in the London area, and down on the South East coast, and in the Portsmouth area, and Cornwall too!

I'll have to run these ideas past hubby first, of course!

Do you think Britain is ready for the two of us together?! *bg*

[identity profile] greyias.livejournal.com 2009-02-06 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd probably go the B&B or hotel route rather than hostels like last time if I decided to drop everything and come right now (which is rather tempting in and of itself *g*)

Of course, I haven't checked to see if my passport is even still valid. Whoops.

Do you think Britain is ready for the two of us together?! *bg*

Well, it's handled us as individuals, surely it can take the combination (but only just.)

Do it! Go! :D

My fare almost gave me a coronary, but that's because UA can basically ask whatever they want, now that all the others have gone belly up. *grumbles*

Do it! Go! :D

Okay!

...okay, I just realized I have another problem. If the whole world is my proverbial oyster, where do I go? It's cheap to just about everywhere but Australia it seems.

*grumbles*

*kicks it for you*

Good to know I'm not the only one who watches the airfare postings. The international packages keep getting better and better. I can almost feel UK soil beneath my feet.

Single ticket to Ireland for less than $400... starts to make it hard to resist ;)

I occasionally find myself wandering to Travelocity when things get a little too dull/stressful 'round these parts.

I get email alerts from Travelzoo on any deals. Compared to a year ago, things are looking better and better and that my dream trip to England and Scotland isn't quite so impossible.

Where do you want to go?

Ooh, never heard of Travelzoo. Sounds like it might be a good site.

Where do you want to go?

Oh, Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, Amsterdam, Berlin... anywhere but here. (Nothing wrong with here, I just haven't been away in a while.)

Mannnn, those are really nice prices! I think I'm going to have to add this site to the places to visit on the web. That's another one you've introduced me to!
