Unwise purchase on the horizon

So you know, after I officially make my decision to move to another city (without finding a job first, although, srsly, how often does that happen beforehand?), add a lovely rent check to my bills, on top of moving costs, Christmas on the distant horizon, and [livejournal.com profile] kymbie's visit in December... you would think it would be easy to resist temptation to buy things I don't need.

But I seriously want.

And because it makes me laugh:

Meanwhile, I do have thoughts on "Whispers"... but I'm attempting to form them into a 'video review'. I know, I'm scared too.

Yes! I used Ubuntu for six months - wrote my thesis on it and everything. I loved it! But like I said - weird computer issues forced me to go back to Windows, and now I'm kind of stuck with it until I'm making money and can buy a new computer.

It's fabulous, though - I always feel a little lost around Macs, and I had no problems at all with Ubuntu. It's so customizable that you can make it feel very Windows. Just - more flexible, with less annoying things you've got no control over. And the Ubuntu community on-line is incredibly active and helpful! I did run into a few problems and questions, and I always found a solution in one of the Ubuntu forms!

Being broke is no fun. Ahh. One day, I shall be a Rich Librarian! And then I shall buy tiny computers for everyone! XD

Oh, that makes me feel so much better! I always have difficulties with the Mac environment, but have attributed it to literally growing up from practically birth using Windows and DOS -- but the customization sounds lovely. With the multitude of programs I use (that sadly, are limited to either Windows or Mac), I don't think I could switch over to it on a main computer. However on a tiny travel machine that I'd only use for net and word processing anyway? A resounding yes.

And then I shall buy tiny computers for everyone! XD

Oh, Rich Librarian, you're way too good to us!
