Improbable Off-the-Wall Wish List for the Remainder of SGA's Season Five

I've managed to offically wean myself off of spoielrs for the rest of the season. So to satsify that addictive, WANTNEEDNOW portion of my brain, I've concocted a list of all the things that would MAKE MY MILLENIUM if it just so happened to appear on screen. A few of them are beyond pipe-dream status, and no, you cannot judge me.

Some spoilers for the first six episodes of the season. Maybe updated if for some reason TPTB are reading my mind and grant some of my list. 


Improbable Off-the-Wall Wish List for the Remainder of Season Five:

• Rodney delivers Teyla's baby  5x01 - Search and Rescue
• We see Atlantis's lightswitches  5x02 - The Seed
• We see a bathroom in Atlantis  5x03 - Broken Ties
• John and Rodney drinking beer and bonding  5x06 - The Shrine
• McShep Hug  (I'm taking "The Shrine" and being happy with it.)
• Teyla and Ronon Buddy Adventure 4TW! (A real adventure. Not "Oh, you're off on another planet and ZAP--sorry about that, plot advancement time!")  Teyla and Ronon saving the galaxy, possibly from something John and Rodney started, is optional, but appreciated.
• Snarkfest 2009 - 42 minutes of almost uninterrupted snark -- with explosions when they pause for breath.
• Rodney announces his undying love for bacon
• It is revealed that one of Carson's greatest secret fears is of Enhydra lutris origin
• The puddlejumper breaks down with the entire crew in front of an abandoned Ancient Outpost. Scooby Doo-like hijinks ensue. (Yes, yes, I'm planning on writing this, but I can still WISH for it)
• Team Dork Sheppard Road Trip!
• Teyla discovers a deep, borderline fanatical love for Wayne Newton on the team road trip
• Ronon drives a car on the team road trip. Chaos ensues.
• John says "Don't make me turn this car/puddlejumper/Ancient warship around"... possibly all three at the same time. While on the team road trip.
• There's a distinct possibility I really want that hypothetical team road trip
• Parrish, the one-minute canon wonder, returns
• Lorne paints some more. Barefoot. Without a shirt.
• We get a "The Chucknician Demands an Explanation for this Bullshit" pose
• The Last Action Rodney - complete with Rodney saving the day action hero style, with John Sheppard playing the role of damsel-in-distress/obligatory-action-hero-teenage-daughter
• The Last Action Woolsey - ...see above. But with added gratuitous McWhump.
• Adventures in Torren Babysitting - The "Uncles" babysit. Chaos ensues.
• Canon confirmation on whether John or Dave is the older/younger brother.
• John rides a motorcycle. In a leather jacket. Helmet is optional.
• Did I mention more scenes with Teyla and Ronon together? I love their friendship almost as much as John and Rodney's.
• oh, and sure, I guess I could do with some more McWhump. I mean, if I HAD to. Twist my arm. Go ahead.
• I am on crack. Yes.

• Rodney winning the Nobel prize - naye 
• Bodyswap! - Team continually switches bodies for an entire episode, that way everyone can play everyone else. HEE! - naye 
• TIMELOOPS - naye  (I can't believe I left this one out. We must have a canon timeloop episode!)

Hey, I never claimed that they were at all realistic, or that anyone else on the face of the planet would want to see some of them. Except the Rodney/Bacon OTP. I know everyone is on board the McBacon train. Anyone have their own improbable/off-the-wall list? The sky (and network restrictions) is the limit!

I told you about my tendency to waffle on that right? XD I think I've been reading too many Outcast Big Bang fics where Dave was younger because the scale has started to tip back in that direction.

It's such a minor detail, I don't know why it bugs me!

The commentary on the season 4 DVDs by the writer and director said that Dave was older. I do think that Flanigan's body language was that of the younger brother. And I could see him leaving home if he had issues with his father but abandoning a younger brother doesn't quite seem like a John thing to do.

Oh, thank you! Everything about that scene in Outcast screamed John=younger brother to me and then Joe Mallozzi spoiled it all by saying he thought John was the older brother. I swear I'm not ever listening to him again; he didn't even write the episode. :)

Sometimes I think there is too much bleed through of an actor's personal data and the character he or she plays. Don't know the character's age? Well, how old is the actor? Don't know his favorite food or her favorite music? What does the actor like. In this case the actor playing Dave is younger by a year or so than Flanigan but let's face it, Flanigan doesn't look his age at all. I sometimes think Sheppard favors the stubbled look because it makes him appear at least a little more seasoned than when he's clean shaven, an important point when one is the CO of a military base in another galaxy. I tend to think of Sheppard as being younger than Flanigan anyway.

I think if the enhydra lutris fear showed up on screen, I would seriously start checking my house for listening devices -- but it would also amuse me to no end.

We need to have an "uncle" babysitting scene though! Preferably with all three!

It would quite possibly be the most cracktastic fic ever, but it would be so much fun! Just a handful of the above would make me happy.

Ahhh, yes! Good list! Especially the road trip. OMG WANT SO BAD! (So bad that it makes me capslock. *g*)

Two things - no, wait. There are three things that would make me bounce so high I reached orbit if we got them. (Okay. Four things, but that's just because I really, really want a real hug between John and Rodney. And also Athosian head-touches between Teyla and Rodney and Teyla and Ronon, since canon has never seen fit to show us those.)

...so, those are the first two of my five things. The other three are:

Bodyswap!!! (I cannot use enough exclamation marks to express how MUCH I want to see this in canon. It's one of those things that would be entertaining in fic, but it'd never be the same as watching the cast play each other.)

AU! With actual AU characters, and not just random aliens and dying suns and such. I don't need this as much as I do bodyswap, since fic can do really good AU stuff, but. Yes. Extra special bonus points if we actually get to see something of Rod's dimension's characters!

Groundhog Day! Every show needs a "repeating day" episodes! And SG-1 had one of the most amusing I've seen, so I know they could write a good one for SGA. Fic does bring good Groundhog Day stuff, but this is something I've been wanting to see in canon since the very first season!

May I say YES to your additions? XD I mean, they're all very fun in fic format, but it's a whole other thing to see them on screen. Especially the bodyswap! I giggle at just the thought of Joe F trying to emulate Rodney... or any of the other actors trying to be McKay. (Okay, now I have the hilarious image of Jason M. trying to play Rodney, complete with flaily arms of panic.)

And timeloops! Yes! The SG-1 timeloop episode is my favorite of the whole series (both from a humor, story, and editing/technical standpoint). SGA would knock that sucker out of the park!

I really, really want a real hug between John and Rodney. And also Athosian head-touches between Teyla and Rodney and Teyla and Ronon, since canon has never seen fit to show us those

See - every single combination I can think of would be genius! I honestly cannot decide what I most want to see. But DH does a mean JF impression, and seeing it in canon would keep me amused for infinite time. Of course, I can also imagine him trying to pull of Teyla's patience (not to mention - there would be baby involved!!), or Ronon's... size. *g*

Any of the others playing Rodney would be insane. And priceless. And just - any of them, with those lines at that speed, and the hands and - all of it!

Or JF and JM switching characters, since they're such close friends in real life - have they observed each other closely enough to pull of the other's character?

And RL playing any of the boys would probably kill me dead, because the sudden "well, this body is... interesting" plus the baby... It's making me giggle, actually. I'm terribly immature. ♥

It's making me giggle, actually. I'm terribly immature. ♥

The image of John as Teyla trying to play Mom slays me! And I can see JF and JM pulling wild exaggerations of each other for laughs, and oh, TPTB, you must give us a bodyswap ep!... or just a scene, and then resume plot. I'm not picky!

Ahh, yes. And then there are timeloops, which would be so much fun because they crack the characters stuck in them, and I so like watching my beloved characters crack. Especially when it's fixable!

I have a possibly unhealthy love for timeloops, for all of the cracked fun, and genuine frustration, that results from them. I possibly love them more when they're heartbreaking and funny at the same time, like Supernatural's timeloop episode.

I want a B-team GO ep - Zelenka, Lorne, Chuck, the nurse Marie, and Amelia can come too - all saving the city while Our Heroes are stuck in some incredibly boring/silly off-world ceremony. (perhaps that involves makeup. Or fuzzy animals.)

B-team episode! Oh yes! With high action happening on the home front, explosions, drama, WHUMP, and tense action music--and then we cut over to Team Sheppard with a lackadaisical tune playing in the background, and John is forced to wear a ridiculously oversized headdress because he's team leader. Then we go back to the action and the real plot, with more explosions, blood, and typically exciting scifi things!

AT THE SAME TIME! Maybe John acquires a motorcycle on the team road trip, and that's how Ronon manages to get his chance at driving the car? XD
