The Seed, Episode Reaction

Woolsey rocks my freaking socks off! Seriously... seriously. He has day planners, and imported mahogony desks, and oh, look at that, a leader that pulls someone into private area for a private talk instead of announcing it to the entire expedition! And OMG, yes, I love his hesitation, and his uber bureaucratic dorkiness.

Dear god...

I think I have some sort of strange crush on Woolsey.

...ah, I'll get over it I'm sure.

(However, I totally need a Woolsey icon now... possibly with pens and pocket protectors.)

And Carson! Squee! Nice to not be reminded that he's a clone every five minutes, because unlike "The Kindred" he felt like Carson. Although the haircut has to go, I'm sorry. It's not the fifties anymore Carson. The rooster look was better. Maybe it's a really bad case of Stasis Hair?

And Rodney (quietly) volunteered to brave tentacle land to play hero. Oh, Rodney. Sad that you disappeared for all those minutes without butting in, because some running snarky commentary would have been funny, but probably interfered with the mood, so granted, that's just the fangirl in me talking. However, the scene in the beginning with Teyla and Keller? More of that, please. That was nice, as well as a nod to the fact that Kanaan did not die horribly and is indeed becoming human again. Oh, and the ATA/Jumper thing was addressed and... and... oh writers, bless you for giving us continuity!

Oh, and thank you [profile] jcjoeyfreak, when Radek was attacked by the crawly stuff, do you know what I was thinking? Of course you do! And Ronon so got tentacle pwn'd.

Next week looks fun, but in deference to those not wanting to be spoiled, I'll save any thoughts/speculation for another post.

Oh, and one more thing.

Five years into the show, and finally we've been shown the freaking lightswitches!

Er, I don't have any particular attachment to Ancient Lightswitches for any reason. And I totally didn't order a shirt for ComicCon last night that might deal with the same subject matter.

And finally... squee! I <3 my show!

Rodney pushing Woolsey in the conference room was awesome, and so very Rodney. I think because of his personality, was probably the only one who might really be able to get away with getting that snotty with Woolsey. I loved the rest of the team's little reaction on that.

also loved the end scene with Sheppard and his 'welcome to the Pegasus Galaxy' bit!

I did too! Oh, John. They don't necessarily like him or his style, but they're all adults about it. I love that there will still be friction, but hopefully it's friction that will lead somewhere. I think Woolsey proved himself to his command staff by listening to them, which while scary, will only help everyone in the long run.

And for someone who's not normally into ship, why am I so excited about this?!

I think because there's not a huge potential for it to take over teh show and mess with team dynamics, like actual shipping between team members would. I'm seeing it more of a storytelling opportunity than an excuse to hook people up. But maybe that's just me ;) Ask me in a few more episodes and my answer might change.

Mustn't forget when Rodney tells Carson his 'symptoms' and Carson's response of 'nothing unusual then' (or words to that effect) cracked me up!!

That was so cute! I've so missed Carson. Keller has a completely different dynamic with the team (not better or worse, just different). I've always seen Carson kind of as a big brother type to everyone, and I've kind of missed that. I really hope we get to see some more interaction between him and Keller, if only so they'll play to my little fanon that he took her on as a protege before the whole "Sunday" thing happened.

But one day, Carson or Jennifer are going to assume Rodney's just being Rodney when something really is wrong with him...Hmm, fic idea, anyone?!

I know I read one like that by someone recently. It was either Ellex or LdyAnne. But a few more wouldn't hurt ;) Poor Rodney and his "hypochondria".

(I put it in quotes because I don't really think he acts like a hypochondriac, but then again, my perception of hypochondria is based on someone in real life, and Rodney's worrying over his health doesn't resemble it by any stretch of the imagination.)

'Cos I've got myself a Woolsey icon now!!!

Lucky! I need to stop being lazy and get one myself.
