Excuse me while I put my snark cap on.
I've tried to be nice and not say anything (in public) about SGU, but this comment kind of broke me a little:
With some of the diehard fans worried that the show would be grittier and darker than the previous incarnations, creators Wright and Cooper were keen to reassure that it was in the same friendly, accessible style, although with a more hand-held shooting style similar to Battlestar Galactica.
Which to me translated to, "Don't worry, we'll still be as cracktastic and absent-minded about continuity as before, but as a bonus we've decided to forget about tripods altogether! :D Aren't we artistic?"
Seriously, SG series, your cinematography is always gorgeous, and you're deciding to chunk that in favor of emulating another dead TV series? Here's a hint:
Shaky cameras isn't what makes good television. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.
Seriously, I'm really trying to keep an open mind about this show (I mean really, I thought I was going to hate SGA), but what I've seen so far of the previews... they're either being really truthful, and I'm probably not going to like it at all. Or they're pulling aSciFi SyFy promo misdirect, and it'll be better than sex candy!
In unrelated news, celebrity gossip seems to indicate that Orlando Bloom has declined to coninue playing the role of Will Turner in the next PotC movie so he can spend more time with hissupermodel girlfriend. I r sad. Now Will will be canonically cursed forever. Worst. Destiny. EVAH.
