"Yet another unexpected twist. Bummer"

Huh.

It appears that deep-seated denial and flippant sarcasm does not deflect oncoming hurricanes from their trajectory.

Who knew?

I'll have the mandatory hurricane freakout that the rest of Houston (and all my relatives in Dallas) seem to be having right now a little later, I have decided. (I can plan these things, ya know?) Also, after pointing out to my sister-in-law my amusement of the URL of houstonhidefromthewind.org, she directed me to the even better, hasthelargehadroncolliderdestroyedtheworldyet.com.

So, in honor of Monsieur Ike, I'm thinking of hosting a virtual hurricane party. Anyone in?

Subject line is a shameless attempt to make [livejournal.com profile] mumumugen and [livejournal.com profile] auragirl laugh.

Have you done 'view source' for the LHC one? It's even better...

Eek! Stay safe!

... I'll totally join you for a virtual party if I can, though. ^^

Thank you! ^_^ I'm actually pretty far inland, so I'm not really worried about the storm surge, but more about the high winds and the high possibility of flooding. If it gains much more strength I think my family is going to retreat to our country hideout.

And welcome to the party! The more the merrier! :D

LOL! I love the LHC site!! And the source code!! *g*

Ah, the patented Sheppard approach didn't work - go figure!

I keep clicking on the website link to amuse myself. It's like a ghost town here at the office, so I'm having difficulty focusing on anything resembling work.

I know! What's up with that? It always works in the movies!

Oh wow. Be careful, okay? What with... you know... hurricanes and such... *taps fingers together*

Also, oh, your subject quote. How many get where that is from? How many appreciate the beauty of it? ONE WONDERS.

I would not have predicted this.

YOUR ICON XD

I think my brother up in Dallas is freaking out about this hurricane far more than I. It's sweet that he worries, but I think he's going to give himself a panic attack if he doesn't calm down. Actually, the last hurricane that hit Houston directly happened while I was in the womb, everything else has veered off and hit New Orleans or petered out to a tropical storm or depression by the time it gets to us. Not to say that it can't, or won't happen this time.

I think you, me, and Kat might get the subject line. But it seemed appropriate XD

And you guys are so awesome to do that! Going to have a real-life hurricane party too? ;)
