Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
After (more) sleep and a few episodes of LoM (wah, only three left), I think I might be coming out of my fugue. There was actually quite a bit happening over the past few weeks (other than previously owned vehicles meeting their untimely demise), and actually a lot of them very happy-making.
aqwt101 has translated a few of my stories into Russian!
Rough Landings - http://aqwt101.livejournal.com/35951.html
Revenge of the Discs - http://aqwt101.livejournal.com/31440.html
Wit's End - http://aqwt101.livejournal.com/34421.html
Thank you
aqwt101 for all of your hard work in bringing SGA fic for Russian fans.
Also, I didn't realize this until
leesa_perrie mentioned it to me, but...

Into the Woods won first place in the Rodney McKay humor section of the first round of the Skiffy Awards. This came as quite a surprise to me, because I didn't realize it had been nominated. It's a good surprise though!
ComicCon is next week, I've got my geeky SGA themed t-shirts ordered and on the way. Now I just need to start packing and do some final last bits of shopping to get ready over the weekend. I think I'll probably pop my head into most of the Stargate-themed panels/gatherings and will hopefully not revert to shy wallflower mode upon not knowing anyone in the room. I also plan on trying to make the Torchwood panel if it doesn't conflict with anything SGA. I might even eventually make it out onto the showroom floor at some point as well!
I'm almost done with the first round of edits on the Big Bang fic (and the word count is erm, yeah, higher). Going to be sent off probably later this evening after a few final tweaks to the lovely
kristen999 and
everybetty who kindly offered to take on extra beta duties.
And finally, most exciting of all, new Atlantis tonight! Squee!

I shall locate and charge my cameras tonight! I'll be bringing my laptop, and the hotel I'll be staying at says that it has hi-speed internet, although I don't know if that's wireless or ethernet. I'll probably make a post of some sort on Saturday night, since I'll have my own room then. I get to see the cast in person! Squee!
(I hold no sort of vain hopes for being able to make it through the crowd and meet them. I will have a very funny looking journal/autograph book with me in case though.)
And everyone but Eve Myles will be there!
Oh yay! Burn Gorman's going to be there too? Triple awesome!
Congrats on the award and the translations!
Thank you! It kind of feels like tooting my own horn, but it was a nice surprise :)

I read somewhere that Burn Gorman will be there; I hope that was right and I haven't misled you! He's not the cutest--okay, he's the least cute--but he's the best actor of the bunch, and that's saying something. I didn't warm up to Owen for a long time, but Burn rocks.
By all means toot your own horn! I toot mine frequently! (Have I mentioned I posted another SG-1 story recently.... ;o )

I packed everything last night, and will be silently going over a quick list to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. I'll probably get to the airport insanely early and wind up getting bored and posting while I'm there.

You might have... but I've been hiding under a
