w00t!

I got my [profile] gateverse_remix assignment, and my first thought was, "Oh, yay!" and then my second thought was "Mwahahahaha!".

Of course, now I have to decide what to remix and how... I think I'll do that between angry Big Bang stomping.

Hee. My first thought was 'remind me why I did this', my second thought was 'oh just kill me now' but fortunately my third thought was 'hmmm...' which is vaguely more encouraging. I shall be doing some angry big bang stomping over at heretoutopia today I hope, but only once I've had some lunch...

"Hmm" is definitely encouraging! Thankfully the due date is the end of July.

And stomp with me! It's fun, and makes those plot lines quiver in fear!

Plot? I'm supposed to have a plot?

Damn, I knew I forget something...

[identity profile] greyias.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Nahh, no plot necessary. 40,000 words of introspection can work too. Plot is overrated. Mine keeps me up at night.

I worry, what kind of other plots is it hanging out with? Are they responsible plots or are they the controversial type? Are they doing drugs? Will they return my plot home before curfew, or will I be pacing the halls...

...I'll stop now.

hee. I don't so much have a plot as a collection of random ideas that I plan to throw up in the air and hope they come down in a pretty pattern. It's always worked so far.

And you want to be careful about your plot. They're easily lead astray and can quickly become addicted to crack...

[identity profile] greyias.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
*sob* I do my best to raise them, teach them right from wrong, but somewhere along the way they always go astray...

(Random ideas are kind of how I do it too. I just know a few scenes that I want to happen, then try to figure out a way for them to all fit into one big Word document)

Got mine today as well - and now I have to go re-read the stories - oh, what a shame! *grin* Of course, going on holiday tomorrow is a pain, but I guess if I cut and paste the stories into word and take them with me that would be okay - plenty of reading time in the evenings!

Your reaction has me a little bit worried. I hope you haven't got my stories, but if you have, don't tell me 'cos then I'd be VERY worried about what you have in mind!! *big grin*

Who am I remixing? OH... nope, no clues. Although, I briefly considered trying to freak all of you out by giving out false clues. (Then I decided I should save that sort of thing for ficathon guessing rounds)

I've been giving it a lot of thought over my morning commute, and I might know which one I'm going to remix. Just sort of need to refresh myself on the definition of remixing and the story itself to see if my idea meshes with it.

Sounds like you're happy with your assignment too *g* See! No worries!

(Oh, and I'll hopefully have an update in your inbox later today.)

I'm very happy with my author! There's at least two stories so far that have potential for some Rodney POV remixing. I was a little worried I'd get someone who wrote lots of Rodney and then I'd have to try my hand at someone else (I can write other POVs, but Rodney's the easiest for some reason!) but nope, my author writes a nice mix of different POVs depending on which story you read...and some nice Rodney-shaped gaps for me to jump in to!!! Yay!

Awaiting the update with bated breath!

Update is in the inbox while I go breathe into a paper bag and have a minor freak out session about nothing.

And now I'm curious to her your author could be, but that's probably half the fun, huh? ;) (I'm still feeling a little sorry/chuckling evilly about the poor person who got me. Srsly, they're going to take one look at the otters and run away screaming.) But I'm glad you're excited! (Especially since it's All. My. Fault.)

OTTERS!!! Snerk!!

Got update, will be reading it ASAP!! Hope the freak out doesn't last long...been there, done that - my beta asks: "Why do you keep writing yourself into a corner and then asking my advice on how to get out of it?" My answer: "It's more fun that way!!!" *g*

[identity profile] greyias.livejournal.com 2008-06-01 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
The freak out is almost over... I just need to sort of write everything in my head down on a sheet of paper so I have something to refer back to -- sort of a lifeline to drag me out of those pesky corners ;)
