On a final note, I just frightened myself by looking at housing prices and mortgage rates.

Check out the prices in Marin County, you'll feel soooo much better. *g* It's one of the reasons I moved back to Europe. (Of course I now pay USD 9,56 for a gallon of gas, no kidding, so it evens out.)
