I was about to reply, "There's something wrong with your copy," but I stopped and confirmed with my husband--yeah, that's actually how Word 2007 is supposed to look. I'm on a Mac, so I'm still on the older version. And I intend to keep it that way, until they fix the @#$% thing.

My version of Word already drives me nuts because when I highlight and format a word or phrase, it will first try to apply the formatting to a whole section or document--everything is in italics or bold or underline. I have to hit "Undo" once, and it undoes the extra formatting but leaves the individual word or phrase I wanted formatted.

We won't talk about AutoFormat, because I've managed to turn all of those functions off completely.

I feel for you. I have OpenOffice, but my husband keeps telling me to wait for the next version. I can't remember why either.
