I like how much like the original versions of themselves they are, yet different because of the knowledge they have. John surely wants to save his Rodney, but he doesn't want to endanger the "real" one, or any of the others. Rodney won't accept "no," even if shutting down the nanites might kill him. He's still working on saving Elizabeth, too, I'm sure, even if the original Elizabeth is gone.
I like Elizabeth's conclusions that she is a new person, a different person.
