Actually that stop sign table sounds pretty cool! I can definitely see the appeal there. Of course, the legality of E-bay is always somewhat suspect, but the stop signs for sale there don't bother me as much morally as the very gray antiquities market operating there.

He wrote these awesome gothic horror kids stuff, set in '50s small-town New England; sometimes on rainy Saturdays I'll lie in bed and reread the entire Johnny Dixon series. But that one book spooked the hell out of me.

Actually, those sound really cool. A quick googling reveals that they're probably books I really would have liked reading back in the day.

White Fang didn't traumatize me, I read it about 60 zillion times! (I was a big fan of any book where the animal lives at the end...)

Me too! :D

Of course, I don't think that it hurt that for a period of time, White Fang was my hero, and I tried to track down everything featuring the character. I really enjoyed everything I ever read by Jack London, although it's been a while since I've picked up his work.
