I knew a guy who had a table made out of a stopsign (he'd gotten it off E-bay, so I don't know if the sign was legally procured or not.) It was a pretty cool table - those things are big, when off the road, and quite shiny with the reflectors...

Hmmm, I read about 10 books a week in middle school, but I don't recall any especially traumatizing me. Well, there was one by John Bellairs that creeped me out so much that I stuck it under my bed when I finished it and wouldn't touch it until I had to bring it back to the library the next week. (John Bellairs is still one of my favorite kids' authors. He wrote these awesome gothic horror kids stuff, set in '50s small-town New England; sometimes on rainy Saturdays I'll lie in bed and reread the entire Johnny Dixon series. But that one book spooked the hell out of me.)

White Fang didn't traumatize me, I read it about 60 zillion times! (I was a big fan of any book where the animal lives at the end...)
