My camera dying on me was just the most random thing ever. But it worked out, because I was putting off getting that SLR for over a year now. I think my excuse was "I've got a perfectly functioning one right now"... and well, that wasn't true anymore. It was only spending twice as much as I would have on a normal camera, and... yeah, no real way to justify it.
