Oh my, sorry it's taken so long to reply, especially to such wonderful detailed feedback. (On each part! ♥!)

They first time I read this, I did wonder at John and Rodney's seemingly over the top childish antics. I very much like the way you explain it later on.

The antics were completely, and totally intentionally over-the-top, for that reasoning. It honestly could be a stretch on characterization, but after much debate I decided to keep it, because I really wanted the light-heartedness to be a cover for something a little darker.

Is this something you have written or will write?

It isn't written, but I think it's something I'd like to follow up later on in this series. I haven't figured out how yet, but it's a big extrapolation of his "Oh, I have an inkling" line from "The Hive", and a lot of speculation I was seeing on one of the Yahoo Groups because of it. I kind of want Carson to continue to have a large part in the series, since in a way he's sort of "responsible" for the situation.

Hee!

Poor bacon, never stood a chance.

Any thoughts as to what this was?

Originally the impetus for Rodney's injury that was dropped in a subsequent draft. Something shiny and cool definitely. Not sure, but perhaps something that can be worked into a future story.

bootlegger!Radek is one of my favorite fandom clichés.

Mine too! I was so sad when they brought in the canon bars and put him out of business.
